On June 29, an asteroid named 2024 MK will approach Earth. This is quite a rare flyby, as the asteroid has an estimated diameter of (100-300) m (For comparison, Apophis 335m) 🪨🪨 Asteroid 2024 MK was discovered on June 16, 2024 by the South African ATLAS–SAAO observatory. At the time of discovery, the asteroid was approximately 10.1 million kilometers from Earth. Calculations showed that on June 29 it will approach the Earth at a short distance of approximately 0.77 times the average distance to the Moon. In Poland. At 11 p.m. it will be visible in the constellation Pegasus. Its brightness will be approximately mag 10.5, so it will be visible through large binoculars or small telescopes.
